Job Details Level: Experienced Job Location: Jacksonville Service - Starke, FL 32091 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Day Job Category: Management Job Overview The Transportation Supervisor, under the direction of the Manager, will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the daily operations of the company’s transportation fleet, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of services to customers. The role includes dispatching drivers and vehicles, communicating with drivers, customers, and the operations team, managing schedules, tracking vehicles, resolving service issues, and optimizing routes. Essential Job Functions Use Office 365 and online dispatch portals to schedule and dispatch drivers and service vehicles. Relay work orders, messages, and information to/from drivers, supervisors, and field inspectors. Create daily routes and work orders using routing software. Address customer questions, problems, and requests with supervisors. Monitor personnel and equipment locations to coordinate service and schedules. Maintain files of customer requests, work performed, and dispatch information. Handle and resolve service interruptions and vehicle breakdowns. Provide real‑time solutions to minimize disruption and ensure timely deliveries. Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required. Manage difficult or emotional customer situations and solicit feedback. Collect and compile reports on volume, daily accidents, hours of service, etc. Enter mileage into spreadsheets from Driver’s Daily Route sheet. Send manifests, call COD customers, and schedule services as needed. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety policies. Monitor driver hours to prevent HOS violations. Operate office machines such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines. Handle multiple assignments independently or within a team. Research and troubleshoot problems. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Need Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatching, preferably in waste management or transportation. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in logistics or transportation management is a plus. 1-2 years of experience with Excel and Word (intermediate to advanced). Minimum 1 year of customer service experience. Minimum 1 year of experience reporting financial information to upper management. Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
