The Human Resources team at Descartes is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our growing U.S. employee population. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this role provides a broad range of HR support across employee relations, onboarding, organizational changes, employee development, compliance, and offboarding activities.
As a key member of the HR team, you will work closely with managers and employees to provide guidance, help resolve HR-related issues, and contribute to a positive employee experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources while developing your skills in a fast-paced, growing global organization. We are looking for an approachable, organized, and proactive HR professional who enjoys building relationships, collaborating with others, and finding practical solutions. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential for success in this role.

What You Will Do
• Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees.
• Support onboarding activities to ensure a positive new hire experience.
• Assist with employee relations matters and help ensure concerns are addressed fairly and consistently.
• Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate employee records and HR data.
• Process and manage HR transactions within the HRIS.
• Support organizational changes and employee lifecycle activities.
• Promote company initiatives, employee engagement, and learning opportunities.
• Assist managers and employees with policies, procedures, benefits, performance management, and other HR-related questions.
• Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

What You Will Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 
• 2-4 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a fast-paced or technology-focused environment. 
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze data, create reports, work with formulas, and manage large datasets. 
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism. 
• Experience with HRIS systems; experience with SAP SuccessFactors is considered an asset.

Location: This is a remote opportunity open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States. The role supports employees and HR operations across North America.

Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000 USD- Compensation information provided is a good-faith estimate for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. Similar positions in different geographic regions may have different compensation ranges.
