Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma Center requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and CT or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a large academic Level I Trauma Center
• Average patient ratios of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active or pending RN license (CT or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Experience with EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery care
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line management, and titration of vasoactive and sedation drips
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical exemptions

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients, including stroke, TBI, and spinal cord injury cases
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiovascular support, including ventilators and continuous IV drips
• Work within a large academic medical center recognized as a Level I Trauma Center
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be eligible for travel rate
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a travel nurse
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
