Summary

A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support a strong pipeline of large, complex process piping projects. This is a field-focused project management role working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, vendors, and project stakeholders to keep work moving from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with mechanical, piping, industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced manufacturing project experience who wants to continue developing toward an Assistant PM / PM role.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day execution of process piping and mechanical construction projects
• Manage RFIs, submittals, project logs, drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Coordinate material and equipment procurement, tracking, and deliveries
• Work closely with field teams to resolve constructability and installation issues
• Assist with change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting
• Coordinate vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
• Support project schedules and monitor key milestones and deliverables
• Review plans, specifications, P&IDs, and related project documentation
• Participate in jobsite meetings and communicate updates between project management and field teams
• Support commissioning, turnover, punch list, and project closeout

Requirements

• 2+ years of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or related construction experience
• Mechanical, process piping, plumbing, industrial, or specialty contractor experience preferred
• Experience with process piping, pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or complex mechanical projects is a plus
• Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders, and construction documentation
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and piping/mechanical documentation
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Comfortable working primarily from active project/jobsite locations
