Title Dental hygienist Job Description Patient Assessment and Diagnostics: Perform thorough patient health assessments, including reviewing medical histories, taking vital signs, and conducting comprehensive intra- and extra-oral examinations. Preventive and Therapeutic Care: Administer high-quality dental cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and the application of preventive materials such as fluoride and dental sealants. Patient Education and Counseling: Deliver effective health education and counseling on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventative health practices, and nutritional factors impacting oral health. Infection Control: Maintain and strictly adhere to all healthcare infection prevention, control protocols, and aseptic techniques to ensure the highest standards of patient and staff safety. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate effectively with the dentist and other healthcare professionals on general dentistry procedures and patient treatment plans. Documentation and Records: Accurately manage and maintain detailed patient treatment and medical records within the clinic's records management system. Salary Range full-time $45 - $65 per hour - Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. Shift & Schedule Operating Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Typical Hours: Approximately 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Specific Work Schedule: Currently four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), with no weekend work required. Location: In-person at our Kent, CT office. Requirements Infection Control License Licensed dental hygienist Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license. Clinical Proficiency: Proven ability in conducting thorough patient assessments, patient treatment, and providing preventive procedures like dental prophylaxis and fluoride treatment. Infection Control: Expert knowledge and strict adherence to aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills for effective patient interaction, education, and team collaboration. Patient Safety: Demonstrated commitment to patient comfort and safety, including the ability to accurately take vital signs. Preferences General Dentistry Prior experience in a dental clinic setting (beyond required licensing experience). Experience or interest in Pediatric Dentistry. Familiarity with dental assisting practices and general dentistry procedures.
