Vice President, Finance & Chief Accounting Officer

Overview

Lead the finance and accounting function, own financial reporting integrity, and serve as a key strategic partner to the executive team and board.

Requirements

  • CPA required; Big 4 background strongly preferred
  • 15+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, 5+ in a senior leadership role (Controller, CAO, VP Finance)
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, SEC reporting (if public/PE-backed), internal controls, and SOX compliance
  • Experience with M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Proven track record managing audit relationships (external/internal)
  • Strong leadership experience building and scaling accounting teams

Responsibilities

  • Own all financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls
  • Lead annual audit process and manage external auditor relationship
  • Oversee treasury, tax strategy, and compliance functions
  • Partner with CEO/CFO on capital structure, M&A, and strategic planning
  • Build and mentor accounting/finance team as company scales
  • Present financial results and risk assessments to board/investors
  • Drive process improvement and systems modernization across finance org
