Quantitative Imaging Analyst

The Quantitative Imaging Analyst position supports the Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core by providing quantitative imaging analytics and imaging analysis support for investigators across the institution.

The Imaging Research Specialist plays a key role in collecting, processing, analyzing, and coordinating imaging-related data used in clinical research. Working within the Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core, the Quantitative Imaging Analyst collaborates with faculty, physicians, and staff to support imaging workflows, ensure data quality, and contribute to research efforts that advance the mission of UT MD Anderson.

The ideal candidate for the Imaging Research Specialist role should possess education, experience, and certifications relevant to quantitative imaging analysis, clinical research imaging, data analysis, and image processing. Candidates with experience supporting imaging analytics, clinical trial imaging, image workflow management, and multidisciplinary collaboration may be well suited for this position.

Responsibilities

Support Quantitative Imaging Analytics

Assess and collect quantitative imaging data for research studies and clinical trial activities.

View lesions and determine baseline and follow-up measurements.

Evaluate metastatic disease, tumor size, lesion size, and anatomical location.

Provide imaging analytics support to investigators and research teams.

Manage Imaging Workflow

Process medical images through established imaging workflows.

Perform image archiving activities in accordance with operational procedures.

Support image auto-routing and related workflow functions.

Transfer and maintain images within Quantitative Imaging Analysis Core-specific servers for review and analysis.

Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for imaging-related systems and workflows.

Coordinate Imaging Data Activities

Coordinate interpretations performed on clinical trial imaging data.

Document imaging interpretations and related research activities.

Maintain records of imaging analyses and study-related findings.

Assist with the organization, tabulation, and analysis of imaging data.

Work under the general supervision of management and faculty leadership.

Troubleshoot & Resolve Issues

Collaborate proactively with faculty and staff across multiple departments.

Identify, investigate, and resolve imaging-related operational issues.

Develop solutions using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Work with physicians to address discrepancies associated with imaging findings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Required: Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Medical Imaging or related field.
• Preferred: Master's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Required: 1 year Experience in medical imaging or medical sciences.
• Preferred: 1 year Experience in imaging aspects of clinical trials; familiarity with oncology image-based tumor response criteria.
