Registered Nurse - PreOp

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role involves supporting a variety of elective and emergency cases to ensure efficient and safe surgical operations.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all preoperative assessments are completed accurately.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and managing surgical instruments.
• Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition throughout surgical procedures, responding to any changes promptly.
• Document all perioperative care activities thoroughly and accurately in patient records.
• Utilize after-hours call services to support OR staffing during nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with clinical standards and policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid, current, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of operating room nursing experience.
• Graduate from an accredited Nursing program (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma).
• Demonstrate proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and rural OR settings is strongly preferred.
