Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: State or Compact License required in-hand prior to start Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - PALS - CMSRN or RN-BC Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience - Patient Ratio Experience: 5 Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with expertise in Medical-Surgical care. Candidates must have experience managing a variety of patient needs. A strong familiarity with charting systems is preferred. Experience in community hospitals and LTAC is preferred. Trauma experience is not required but will be considered an asset. Travel experience is required. Skills in accessing and managing ports, handling bariatric surgery cases, and managing BiPAP/CPAP are essential. The role includes blood product administration and bowel obstruction management. Candidates should be proficient in central line blood draws and chest tube management. Colostomy and ileostomy care, along with continuous bladder irrigation management, are required. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is necessary. Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment use is essential. The ability to manage various medications, including insulin and heparin, is required. Nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration skills are necessary. Candidates must be skilled in peripheral line care and management. Proficiency in pre/post procedures such as hemodialysis and neurosurgery is expected. Wound care and the management of surgical drains are required responsibilities. The nurse must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role. The nurse will be expected to float to other units as required. Weekend coverage may be necessary.
