DSV is looking for a Senior Freight Security Specialist to monitor and support the secure movement of high-value and high-risk freight across our transportation network. This role is a great fit for someone who understands transportation operations, cargo security, and shipment monitoring and knows how to identify risk, evaluate exceptions, and respond when something doesn't look right. You'll monitor active shipments and security technology using GPS, telematics, geofencing, cargo security devices, and other tracking tools while reviewing routing, secure parking, seal controls, chain-of-custody requirements, and customer-specific security protocols. When an alert or exception occurs, you'll evaluate the available information, assess the potential risk, and determine the appropriate action, escalation, or additional security controls. Beyond real-time monitoring, you'll help identify cargo theft trends, recurring security gaps, device and process failures, and operational vulnerabilities that may create additional risk. You'll conduct security reviews, maintain accurate incident and shipment information, and work with Operations, Safety, Compliance, and external partners as appropriate to support security events and strengthen cargo security practices. This position works Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM, supporting freight security and transportation operations during evening and overnight hours. If you bring transportation or cargo security experience, strong judgment, and the ability to stay focused in a fast-moving monitoring environment, this is an opportunity to apply those skills and continue growing your career with the world's largest freight forwarding and logistics company.Duties & Responsibilities:Review high-value and high-risk shipments to identify applicable security requirements and confirm required controls are established prior to and throughout transit.Ensure required security devices and monitoring technologies are properly assigned, activated, configured, and functioning based on shipment requirements and risk level.Monitor active shipments using GPS, telematics, geofencing, security devices, and other tracking technology to identify route deviations, device failures, unauthorized stops, or other potential security concerns.Independently evaluate security exceptions and determine appropriate actions, escalation, or additional controls based on shipment risk, circumstances, and established security requirements.Review routing, secure parking, seal controls, chain-of-custody requirements, and other shipment security measures to identify potential vulnerabilities.Respond promptly to security alerts and incidents by reviewing available shipment, tracking, telematics, and security data to assess risk and support timely resolution.Analyze cargo theft activity, security incidents, regional alerts, and emerging trends to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate preventive measures.Conduct security reviews and audits to validate compliance with established security requirements, procedures, and customer-specific protocols.Coordinate with Operations, Safety, Compliance, law enforcement, cargo theft task forces, insurance partners, and other internal or external stakeholders as appropriate during significant security events.Identify recurring security gaps, device or process failures, and operational vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to strengthen security controls and reduce exposure.Maintain accurate security records, incident information, device status, and shipment documentation within applicable systems and prepare reports and summaries for management.Perform other duties, responsibilities, and project work as assigned by management.Qualifications & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.3 to 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain security, cargo security, loss prevention, or a related operational environment.Working knowledge of transportation operations, shipment lifecycle, routing, cargo security, and high-value freight requirements.Experience supporting high-value freight, cargo theft prevention, shipment security, or security monitoring strongly preferred.Experience using GPS tracking, telematics, geofencing, cargo security devices, or other security monitoring technology.Experience evaluating security exceptions, identifying risk, and determining appropriate actions based on established requirements and circumstances.Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other transportation or security technology.Experience supporting security incident response, audits, or investigations preferred.Skills & Competencies:Strong security and risk-assessment skills with the ability to identify vulnerabilities and evaluate security exceptions.Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify security requirements, device status, shipment information, and supporting documentation.Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness with the ability to quickly identify and respond to security alerts, exceptions, and time-sensitive issues to minimize risk and potential exposure.Sound judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to respond quickly and appropriately in time-sensitive or high-risk situations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate security data, identify patterns, and recommend appropriate actions.Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple high-priority shipments and security matters simultaneously.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate security concerns, findings, and recommendations.Strong proficiency with transportation, tracking, telematics, security monitoring systems, and Microsoft Office applications.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use a computer, telephone, security monitoring systems, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.The employee is frequently required to communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, and through electronic means.The position requires sustained attention to multiple computer screens, security monitoring systems, shipment information, alerts, and related documentation.The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office or other business environments, reach, bend, and lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.Work Environment:This position primarily operates in a professional office environment supporting continuous transportation operations.The role requires sustained attention to active shipments, security alerts, monitoring systems, and changing operational conditions.The position requires regular interaction and collaboration with Operations, Safety, Compliance, and other internal teams and may involve coordination with external security, insurance, law enforcement, cargo theft prevention partners, and other stakeholders based on business needs and security events.The noise level in the primary office environment is generally low to moderate.This position works Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM and requires consistent availability and responsiveness during scheduled working hours.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position within the described physical demands and work environment.Expected base pay range is $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 Annual.
