The Mahaska County YMCA Early Learning Program has an opening for a Lead Teacher. The successful candidate will provide a developmentally appropriate classroom that is creative, flexible, and rich in Early Childhood learning experiences. Provide a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law. A two-year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Criminal Background Check and up-to-date immunizations, physical and TB test required.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Mandatory Abuse Reporting and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
program activities. - Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships
with people from different backgrounds.
