Registered Respiratory Therapist / Acute Care Hospital

A leading healthcare organization in Southwest Florida, near Cape Coral , is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its Respiratory Care team on nights.

This is a strong opportunity for an RRT who wants to work in a high-acuity acute care hospital setting with exposure to critical care, emergency medicine, stroke care, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, and surgical services. New graduates from accredited respiratory therapy programs are welcome to apply.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Deliver respiratory care to patients across all age groups.
• Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and mechanical respiratory procedures.
• Administer oxygen therapy and therapeutic respiratory treatments.
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and analysis.
• Manage ventilators and provide airway management.
• Support patients from emergency ventilation through recovery, rehabilitation, and education.
• Follow established hospital and department policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
• Maintain competency and proficiency across assigned respiratory care modalities.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, respiratory leadership, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• May assess staff blood gas competencies if qualified as a Technical Consultant.

Schedule

• Full-time position.
• Night shift.
• 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.
• Flexible scheduling options may be available.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Bachelor’s degree required if performing Technical Consultant duties.
• Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Active Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license required.
• BLS required.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP required as appropriate to the patient population or specialty area served.
• No prior experience required.
• New graduates of accredited COARC Respiratory Therapy programs are accepted.

Compensation and Benefits

• $27.81-$45.55/hour, based on experience.
