Patient Access Representative – Hospital Registration

We are hiring Patient Access Representatives for a hospital in Marina del Rey, CA. We are looking for candidates interested in a variety of work schedules.

• Evening Shift: 5 days per week, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Night Shift: 5 days per week, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Full-time AM shifts often become available as well, so feel free to apply even if the current evening or night shift hours do not work for you

We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented Patient Access Representatives to support hospital registration and front desk operations. The ideal candidate has recent experience in a medical setting and a strong background in medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans.

As a Patient Access Representative, you will help ensure accurate patient registration, assist with insurance-related inquiries, and provide professional service to patients while supporting efficient hospital operations.

This opportunity is well suited for candidates with experience in hospital registration, medical reception, patient services, insurance verification, and other healthcare administrative roles involving direct patient interaction.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Recent experience working in a medical setting, with at least 1 year of experience
• Demonstrated experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
• Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information
• Willingness to comply with the facility's flu vaccination requirement; exemptions and declinations are not accepted

Important: Hands-on experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans is mandatory. Candidates who do not have this experience will not be interviewed. Please ensure these qualifications are clearly reflected in your resume before applying.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of recent patient registration experience
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Previous experience in a hospital, emergency department, patient access department, or high-volume medical front office
• Experience assisting patients with registration, insurance information, referrals, and benefit-related questions

Key Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and maintain complete patient demographic information
• Review and enter medical insurance information
• Assist with insurance verification and benefit plan inquiries
• Support referral-related processes and ensure required information is documented
• Communicate with patients to obtain and confirm necessary registration information
• Review patient information for accuracy and completeness
• Follow established registration procedures and maintain confidentiality
• Provide courteous, professional service in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable requirements

Schedule Information

Current openings are available for evening and overnight shifts. Schedules are five 8-hour shifts per week.

• Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Overnight: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Full-time morning shifts frequently become available, so candidates interested in AM schedules are encouraged to apply as well.
