Material Handler / Parts SpecialistThis role focuses on shipping and receiving parts, materials, cores, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records in the computer system. You verify that all incoming and outgoing items are free of visible damage and comply with applicable regulations and internal policies related to quality, documentation, and traceability, including part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life. You also perform shelf life audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and reliability.ResponsibilitiesShip and receive parts, materials, cores, and equipment in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.Replenish inventory and update all movements accurately in the computer system.Inspect packages upon receipt to verify that no visible damage exists and escalate issues when necessary.Confirm that all items received comply with federal regulations and company policies regarding quality, documentation, and traceability, including part number, serial number, and shelf life.Perform regular shelf life audits to ensure that all inventory is within usable dates and properly labeled.Conduct cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify discrepancies.Handle and organize parts and materials within the warehouse or hangar to ensure efficient stocking and retrieval.Use inventory control systems, including SAP and other computer applications, to manage and track stock.Interact with internal customers and team members, providing responsive and professional customer service.Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working in the hangar environment.Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support efficient operations and compliance with standards.Essential Skills1–2 years of experience handling aircraft parts or auto parts.Strong computer skills, including data entry and use of inventory systems.Experience with inventory control, stocking, cycle counts, and warehouse inventory processes.Ability to work with parts and materials in a warehouse or hangar environment.Customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders.Great attention to detail, especially when verifying documentation, part numbers, serial numbers, and shelf life.Verifiable high school diploma.Willingness and ability to obtain DOT and IATA certifications.Clean driving record.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience using SAP or similar inventory management software.Proficiency with Microsoft applications for basic computer tasks and documentation.Comfort working with warehouse inventory processes and handling parts and materials.Ability to learn and follow federal regulations and company policies related to quality, documentation, and traceability.Strong organizational skills for managing stock locations and performing cycle counts.Reliability and consistency in maintaining accurate computer data entry.Willingness to complete training programs related to the role and certifications.Why Work Here?You join a team that invests in your development through structured training and clear progression from initial onboarding to becoming a fully trained direct employee. You work Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, providing a consistent daytime schedule. The dress code typically consists of a T-shirt, work pants, and boots, suitable for a hands-on, safety-conscious setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
