Role Description The Family Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Key West, FL, responsible for providing direct services to children and families to support safety, stability, and healthy development. Day-to-day tasks include conducting family assessments, developing service plans, coordinating referrals to community resources, and monitoring progress through regular home and office visits. The role involves maintaining accurate case documentation, collaborating with legal, medical, and social service providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure integrated care. The Family Specialist will also offer parenting support and education, advocate for families in court or agency settings as needed, and respond to crises while adhering to organizational policies and applicable regulations. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to build trust with diverse families. Candidates should possess knowledge of Family Law and related child welfare regulations to navigate legal processes and advocate effectively for children and caregivers. Candidates should possess Case Management skills, including assessment, service planning, coordination of resources, and consistent follow-up. Candidates should possess foundational understanding of Medicine and Family Medicine to collaborate with healthcare professionals and interpret basic medical information relevant to family needs. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in child and family services considered. Experience working with children and families in community-based or child welfare settings is highly beneficial. Ability to work on-site in Key West, FL, manage a caseload, and handle sensitive situations with discretion and cultural competence.
