Position Overview

Defense Sciences Inc. (DSI) is seeking an experienced Software Trainer to provide instruction and technical support for the Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability (HPAC) and Joint Effects Model (JEM) software applications.

This is a software training position, not a CBRNE field training position

The ideal candidate has experience teaching technical software applications to military, government, or professional users. Familiarity with CBRNE modeling, hazard prediction, or defense simulation software is beneficial, but strong software training and instructional skills are the primary focus.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training on HPAC and JEM software applications.
• Teach users how to navigate software interfaces, configure scenarios, enter data, execute models, and interpret application outputs.
• Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, exercises, and user guides.
• Conduct hands-on software demonstrations and practical training exercises.
• Assist students with software operation, troubleshooting, and application functionality.
• Adapt instruction to students with varying levels of technical experience.
• Provide feedback on software usability, training effectiveness, and recurring user issues.
• Travel to government and military locations to conduct scheduled training.

Required Qualifications

• Experience delivering instructor-led training on technical software applications.
• Ability to explain complex software functionality clearly to users with different technical backgrounds.
• Experience developing instructional materials and conducting hands-on software demonstrations.
• Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot common software issues during training.
• Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HPAC, JEM, or similar modeling and simulation applications.
• Experience training military or government personnel.
• Familiarity with CBRNE hazard modeling, atmospheric dispersion, or consequence assessment.
• Experience with defense modeling and simulation systems.
• Knowledge of military training environments and instructional practices.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who enjoys teaching people how to use complex software. Successful candidates may come from technical software training, simulation training, application support, or instructional technology backgrounds. xhyhwjd

Previous CBRNE experience is valuable, but this position is focused on teaching the operation and practical application of HPAC and JEM software, rather than conducting general CBRNE response or field training.
