Billing Specialist

Michael Best & Friedrich LLP is seeking an entry level, driven and organized Billing Assistant in our Waukesha, WI office . The Billing Assistant office will provide support to the Billing Department Team. Opportunities to expand responsibilities and progress within the Billing Services function are available for individuals based on strong performance and the desire to grow. What You'll Be Doing Support the Billing Lead and Billing Specialists in the timely distribution of invoices. Manage the end-to-end invoice distribution process, ensuring client invoices are delivered accurately timely and in accordance with client requirements. Complete a broad variety of tasks for the Billing Team, including but not limited to: Assist Billing Specialists with setting up new clients for e-billing (Legal Tracker/Serengeti, Tymetrix T360, CounselLink, BillBlast etc.) Submit electronic invoices to clients via BillBlast or their designated electronic billing system and verify successful submission Perform client billing activities for assigned clients in a timely manner Track status of bills submitted, identifying issues, and work to address rejections and reductions as they arise Prepare and distribute monthly accrual information to clients. Proactively follow-up with the Billing Lead, Billing Specialists, Legal Assistants, and Attorneys Manage shared billing team mailbox, including: Prioritize, review and proactively follow-up on requests, ensuring all requests are completed in a timely manner Routing requests to the appropriate Billing Specialist when needed. Communicating situations as they arise that may require follow-up, such as rate issues, delays in billing, difficult requests, etc. Maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling client and firm information.
