Senior Product Designer - User Experience

As a Senior Product Designer, you will shape the systems and experiences that support our customers across web and mobile products. Your primary focus will be leading the evolution, quality, and adoption of our established design system, including its components, tokens, documentation, accessibility standards, and governance. You will partner closely with engineering to maintain alignment between designed and coded components while helping teams use the system effectively and consistently. You will also serve as a UX partner to product management for TheraNest initiatives, applying product design and user research expertise to create accessible, responsive, and intuitive experiences. This role is an opportunity to influence design at scale while remaining connected to customer needs and hands-on product work. ***A portfolio/website is required to apply.*** Lead the evolution, management, and quality of the design system across web and native mobile experiences. Partner closely with your engineering counterpart to plan, design, review, test, quality-assure, and release design system updates. Maintain strong parity between designed and coded sources, and help teams understand how components should behave across responsive experiences. Evaluate and test design system solutions for accessibility and usability, advocate for WCAG and ADA-aligned practices, and document accessibility expectations for designers and engineers. Maintain clear design system documentation, including usage guidance, responsive behaviors, specifications, implementation considerations, and accessibility standards. Support the system’s AI readiness through effective documentation, tokens, guidance, skills, and connections. Lead design system meetings, office hours, demonstrations, critiques, and other team rituals. Execute and strengthen design system governance. Review requests from designers and engineers, balance consistency with product needs, and help teams make informed decisions about when to use, adapt, or propose additions to the system. Write and prioritize design system backlog items in partnership with the product owner and engineering. Translate user, product, design, and technical needs into clear, actionable work. Partner with product managers as their UX counterpart for assigned TheraNest initiatives. Provide product design and research expertise while collaborating with engineering, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders throughout iterative product cycles. Design user-centered solutions that align with business goals and target success metrics. Produce a range of design artifacts, including concepts, wireframes, user flows, mockups, prototypes, specifications, and detailed design deliverables. Plan and conduct user research and usability testing in collaboration with product partners. Present design work to internal teams, subject-matter experts, and stakeholders to explain decisions, gather feedback, and build alignment. Use approved AI tools to assist, automate, accelerate, and improve the quality of design, research, documentation, and related workflows. Mentor other designers, provide constructive design feedback, and help raise design craft and design system fluency across the team. 6+ years of experience in product or UX design, including 3+ years leading design systems used by multiple product teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience managing and evolving an effective design system, including components, patterns, tokens, documentation, and governance.
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to design quality.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and practices, including WCAG and ADA, with experience advocating for and implementing accessible design approaches.
• Experience designing responsive web and native mobile experiences.
• Proven experience designing complex products in partnership with product managers and cross-functional teams in iterative product cycles.
• Advanced Figma skills, including component design, prototyping, branching, token management, AI tools, documentation, and methods for maintaining design and code parity.
• Experience partnering directly with engineering on a coded component library, along with a working understanding of HTML and CSS.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders and effectively giving and receiving design critique.
• An online portfolio demonstrating both design system and product design work. Experience using AI tools in design, research, prototyping, documentation, or product development workflows.

Experience preparing design systems to work effectively with AI-enabled tools and development practices. Experience conducting design and research for healthcare, behavioral health, regulated, or data-sensitive products. Experience migrating products from legacy interfaces or systems to a modern design system. Strong technical proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience designing React components or working with Material UI. Experience using product analytics platforms to inform design decisions and measure outcomes. User research and user testing capabilities, including planning, data collection, and analysis.
