Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Responsibilities Greeting patients with a friendly, compassionate and professional demeanor Utilizing a desktop or laptop computer for data entry and daily office functions Scheduling appointments (i.e. new patient, follow-up, chemotherapy, outside providers) Answering phones/Scanning/Faxing/Emailing Entering patient demographic and insurance information accurately Verifying patient insurance and eligibility Checking patients in at time of arrival Collecting co-payments/deductibles/account balances Triage/Interview patients Vital signs, injections, venipunctures, gather specimens and send to lab for processing timely Document chief complaint/medical history/update medication list Request/Gather all necessary data for each patient medical record (i.e. hospital/referring physician office/radiology and or lab records) Maintain a clean/organized work area including front office/triage area/examination/treatment rooms Prepare treatment rooms before each examination Properly drape patients if necessary Sterilize instruments and maintain all medical equipment Assist the physician with procedures and treatments Review physician orders/monitor prescriptions/request authorizations Stock office/medical supplies and request supply orders timely based on inventory needs Must be a team player, passionate about patient care, self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Communicate efficiently with patients, physicians and other healthcare staff Other duties as directed by the physician and/or office manager Obtain insurance authorizations for all required exams and document approvals Obtain information on the patient's eligibility status with the insurance company to ensure proper coverage and payment for services Obtain patients\' hospitalization information and enter necessary data into computer system Work Location: In person Qualifications 3 years and above of medical specialty practice experience in BOTH front and back office duties High School Diploma or Equivalent Certified Medical Assistant CPR Certified Bilingual is preferred Previous Hematology and Oncology experience is strongly preferred Strong Computer Knowledge (i.e. EMR, Word, Excel) Salary dependent on experience Equal Opportunity Employer Job Type: Full-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
