Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced RN to provide care for adult patients in a medical-surgical stepdown unit focusing on stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. The nurse will operate in a fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately per physician orders.
• Operate specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
• Monitor patient progress and document vital signs, symptoms, and interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide patient education and support to promote recovery and self-care.

Qualifications:

• Current NY RN license and active CPR certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of MS stepdown experience, including stroke and travel assignments.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR system preferred.
• Valid driver's license with matching address and current NIHSS certification.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, with floating responsibilities.
