The Division is a top-ranked program with exceptional strengths in a broad array of clinical areas, including RA, SLE, vasculitis, scleroderma, osteoporosis and other diseases. The Division is affiliated with the UAB Comprehensive Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, Bone, and Autoimmunity Center, which draws together multidisciplinary teams. This provides an unusually rich environment for collaborations and development of shared resources. UAB has superb infrastructure for clinical and basic research and particularly strong programs in genetics, outcomes research and basic immunology. The Division is building on these strengths through expanded patient cohorts to foster clinical and translational research.The Division is seeking to hire three types of positions:1. Clinician educators (Rheumatologists) with a primary interest in clinical care and teaching who value an academic environment dedicated to improving the understanding and treatment of rheumatic disease.2. Clinical investigators with interests in the epidemiology, outcomes, and/or testing experimental therapeutics in rheumatic and autoimmune diseases.3.
