Staff Accountant

The following duties represent the typical responsibilities associated with this position. They are not intended to be all-inclusive. Performs professional accounting work and prepares technical accounting reports in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Maintains journals, ledgers, and other financial records; analyzes transactions and posts appropriate accounting entries. Reviews financial documents such as requisitions, journal entries, invoices, and other financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines. Assists with specialized accounting activities, which may include: Fixed asset accounting Cash management and investment support Assists with preparation of audit schedules and workpapers. Prepares routine and special financial, statistical, and management reports. Reconciles accounts and reviews subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assists in monitoring accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
