HR Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team by providing comprehensive HR support to a 24/7 catalyst recycling manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for administering all core HR functions, including, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, performance management, and HR reporting. A primary responsibility of this position is serving as the organization's subject matter expert for ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate maintenance of employee data, payroll support, workflows, reporting, time and attendance, benefits administration, and system optimization. The successful candidate will possess extensive ADP Workforce Now experience, strong knowledge of employment laws, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the primary administrator for ADP Workforce Now. Maintain employee master records and ensure data integrity. Process new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations. Configure and maintain workflows, approvals, security roles, and user access. Administer electronic onboarding and employee self-service. Support payroll processing by auditing employee information and time records. Maintain Time & Attendance and scheduling data. Manage organizational structures, departments, job codes, and reporting relationships. Create and maintain custom reports and HR dashboards. Monitor system compliance and perform regular data audits. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with ADP. Identify opportunities to automate HR processes through ADP functionality. Train managers and employees on ADP Workforce Now features and self-service capabilities. Assist with workforce planning and staffing initiatives for a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors. Provide guidance on company policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters. Promote positive employee engagement and communication. Administer employee benefit programs. Process benefit enrollments and qualifying life events. Coordinate annual Open Enrollment. Respond to employee benefit questions. Work with benefit vendors to resolve issues. Reconcile benefit invoices. Audit payroll data for accuracy. Review timecards and attendance records. Ensure employee pay changes are processed accurately. Assist with payroll reconciliation. Any other duties as assigned by management. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing, chemical processing, industrial, or other 24/7 operations. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and Texas employment regulations. Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and offboarding. Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and resolving employee relations issues in a fair, consistent, and confidential manner. Experience supporting managers with coaching, disciplinary actions, corrective action documentation, and performance improvement plans. Strong understanding of payroll processes and HRIS systems, with advanced experience using ADP Workforce Now, including workflows, reporting, and employee data management. Experience administering leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and return-to-work programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Frequent walking throughout office and manufacturing areas. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to wear required PPE while visiting operational areas.
