Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 1 year of Main Hospital PACU experience required
• Pediatric experience in the OR required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Experience caring for post-surgical patients in a recovery setting
• Ability to work a 12-hour day schedule with required call, weekends, and holidays
• Must be comfortable floating to like acuities or lower if needed
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach

PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients immediately following surgery in the PACU
• Manage airways, pain levels, vital signs, and overall recovery needs
• Provide safe, attentive care in a 1:1 patient ratio environment
• Collaborate with surgical services and interdisciplinary team members
• Prepare patients for transfer back to ASU for continued observation
• Support a positive patient experience through compassionate, skilled care
• Adapt to changing clinical needs and assist where appropriate within similar acuity areas
