Test Automation Engineer

Role: Test Automation Engineer

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Remote)

Duration: 3+ months

Job Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Karate Framework, Selenium, and Playwright to improve test efficiency, scalability, and coverage.
• Analyze backend applications, REST/SOAP APIs, and system integrations to understand business workflows, API requests/responses, and data flow patterns.
• Perform comprehensive manual testing of web applications, APIs, and backend services, including functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Create, execute, and maintain automated test suites for API, UI, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
• Develop reusable test scripts, test utilities, and automation solutions using Java to support continuous testing and quality assurance initiatives.
• Execute database validations and backend testing using SQL and PostgreSQL, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
• Participate in defect tracking, root cause analysis, test planning, test execution, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies while driving continuous quality improvements throughout the SDLC.
