Sr Manager, Engagement Partner

Job Summary This position focuses on complex problem resolution and leading diverse projects that align with current business trends. Senior Manager’s Initiatives may drive global process improvements. Responsibilities Lead complex projects and problem resolution efforts. Provide strategic direction for client solutions. Conduct advanced client training and support sessions. Foster long‑term client relationships. Implement global process improvements. Develop and serve your directs: provide ongoing feedback and coaching to build performance and address skill gaps. Mentor others to share best practices and advance sales of products and technologies. Develop and deliver training on business problems, products, and messaging for presales team members. Partner with Product Management to provide market feedback, coordinate gap analysis between product functionality and customer demands, and communicate product direction back to the sales organization. Maintain domain and product knowledge: understand the business and technical problems PayPal products address, keep up with road‑map and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to support merchants. Partner with the sales team and provide direct support as needed; build effective working relationships with sales management and sales engineering teams. Qualifications 8+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent education‑experience combination. Proven success in presenting to large name‑brand merchants. Passion for learning new technologies and solving problems with diverse clients. Experience with internet technologies (Web Services/SOAP, HTML, FTP, SSL). Knowledge of PayPal products and services or experience with payment systems (credit card, banking, online, offline). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including active listening. Excellent organizational skills. Well‑developed presentation skills. Excellent customer‑relations skills. Ability to analyze customer requirements and coordinate with existing products. PMP certification (optional). Travel required (15%+). Minimum of 5 years as lead Engagement Manager and/or manager of an Engagement / Integration team. 4+ years of internet‑technology, programming, or system‑architecture experience. 2+ years of PayPal or other payment‑industry experience. Excellent verbal and written English proficiency. Travel required: 15%+. Compensation Base pay and additional compensation will depend on location and experience. Pay ranges by primary location: SanJose, California ($159,500–$236,500) annually; Austin, Texas ($145,000–$215,050) annually; Scottsdale, Arizona ($137,500–$204,050) annually. Additional compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation.
