Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC's), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

We are currently seeking a RN Clinical Supervisor - Behavioral Health (Full Time-Days). The Behavioral Health RN Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations within the Behavioral Health Unit while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric nursing care. This role provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to nursing and support staff, promotes compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Behavioral Health Unit
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Coordinators, and ancillary staff
  • Monitor patient care activities to ensure compliance with psychiatric nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, assignments, and workflow management
  • Serve as a clinical resource for behavioral health staff regarding psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and patient safety
  • Participate in patient rounding, care planning, and interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Monitor patient acuity, staffing needs, and patient flow to maintain safe operations
  • Respond to behavioral emergencies, code situations, and patient/family concerns as needed
  • Support staff education, orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development
  • Promote a therapeutic and recovery-focused patient care environment
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, case management, and hospital leadership to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement projects, and regulatory readiness activities
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, restraint/seclusion, and behavioral health regulations

Qualifications Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • DC RN License required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience required
  • Previous leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or de-escalation training preferred
