Location: The Woodlands, TX

Amount of Travel Required: Less than 5%

Work Schedule: M-F, 8am – 5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services to meet the organization's operational needs. This role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

Procurement Management:

• Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock.

Vendor Relations:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements.
• Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other data.
• Generate reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
• Stay updated on market trends and new product offerings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful platform operation, development, and business continuity.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
• Daily overtime required and in person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX (if applicable).
• Is proficiency in the spoken English language needed? If so, please add "Proficiency in spoken English language*" (see below asterisk)
• Valid U.S. Driver's License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3 year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or similar credentials preferred

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Purchasing Specialist works indoors in an office setting, primarily sitting for extended periods of time at a desk station, keyboarding and using repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and or fingers. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus while reading and staring at computer monitor. They will also need to speak clearly and audibly, as well as have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and /or other sounds (e.g., building alarms) deriving from in person speech, telephone, or other remote speech. No adverse environmental conditions are expected. While in the office Purchasing Specialist may be called upon to stand, kneel, push, pull, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, climb, and lift; therefore, the Purchasing Specialist should be able to lift 25 lbs. independently

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
