Summary Manage the overall operational activities of the Healthcare Technology Management department. Review, audit, and participate in decision support activities related to repair and maintenance performed by the HTM staff and assure quality of patient‑care equipment. Provide on‑site leadership for all components of the medical equipment management program. Collaborate in developing annual goals that support the growth and development of services in response to the organization’s equipment support needs. Minimum Qualifications Formal Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience & Training Required: Five years of progressively responsible experience in the biomedical/imaging service industry, providing leadership skills. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Knowledge of many types of patient‑care equipment; ability to use basic computer applications (e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheets, CMMS systems); evaluate maintenance and cost data related to medical equipment; evaluate equipment service needs and communicate with clinical users on proper device use and safety; assess staff and vendor productivity and quality of equipment support; write reports and give presentations on operational and technical issues; understand local and national public‑safety and regulatory issues; understand project‑management terms and methods; interact effectively with patients/customers, respecting their needs for self‑respect and dignity. Physical Demands: Medium – exert 20‑50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10‑25 pounds frequently, or negligible force continuously to move objects. Hazards: Possible exposure to electrical shock, ionizing radiation, chemicals and fumes, high‑pressure air, infectious disease, and other biomedical engineering hazards. Compensation decisions consider experience, geography, and internal equity.
