Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Infection Preventionist Nurse (LPN/RN) to develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices, conduct surveillance and monitoring of infections, and collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Conduct surveillance and monitoring of infections, including reviewing medical records, conducting interviews, and analyzing data

• Provide expert guidance to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices, including proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment use, and isolation techniques

• Collaborate with other departments, including epidemiology, quality improvement, and pharmacy, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to identify opportunities for improvement

• Identify and report potential infection control risks and recommend corrective actions

• Participate in infection prevention and control training and education programs for healthcare staff

• Maintain accurate and complete records of infection control activities, including surveillance and monitoring, training, and education

Requirements

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Missouri

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing

• Experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a long-term care setting

• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain
