Advanced Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) - PRN Nights

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing essential respiratory care services during night shifts on a PRN basis. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory therapy under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients.

Job Summary

As an Advanced Respiratory Therapist, you will plan, implement, and evaluate therapy effectiveness while collaborating closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams. Your compassionate care will support patients' pulmonary function, alleviate discomfort, and promote recovery through various respiratory treatments and equipment management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results to develop and administer respiratory therapy plans.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and manage therapies such as bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary.
• Supervise respiratory therapy aides and technicians, ensuring safe and effective equipment use.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and caregivers on home respiratory care and equipment.
• Contribute to departmental policy development, training programs, and workflow coordination.

Education and Experience

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license in Washington State.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required at hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within one year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical skills.
• Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and electronic medical records.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams and patients.
• Independent judgment, problem-solving, and organizational skills to manage diverse responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

Includes frequent lifting and carrying of equipment up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices.

Work Environment

This position offers 10-hour night shifts on a PRN basis within a supportive and patient-centered healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest.
