Biomarker Sample Operations Manager

job summary:
A Top-Tier Global Pharma Leader is seeking a Biomarker Sample Operations Manager - III for a 2-year hybrid contract position in North Chicago, IL (or South San Francisco, CA). In this role, you will lead the end-to-end collection, transfer, and management of clinical trial bio-samples to advance groundbreaking precision medicine and oncology clinical research.

responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end collection, processing, shipping, and storage of bio-samples from investigator sites to testing laboratories in compliance with protocols, GCP, and ICH guidelines.
• Partner with Biomarker Program Managers and Lead Scientists to align sample data delivery with clinical trial timelines.
• Reconcile bio-sample database entries, create edit checks across sample types, and support the development of sample tracking systems.
• Manage central laboratory vendor relationships, track service deliverables, review vendor invoices, and support contract execution.
• Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to optimize bio-sample operations and operational efficiency.

 
qualifications:



Required:

• Master's degree with 3+ years OR Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of project management experience in oncology, biomarkers, or clinical trials.
• Hands-on clinical trial experience with a strong scientific oncology background.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organization, analytical, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.

Preferred:

• PMP Certification
