Responsible Manager: Senior VP, Global Additive Minds

Location: Pflugerville, TX

We, EOS - world market leader for industrial 3D printing, are looking for a Director of Metals Technology, Global Additive Minds, to join our team. The candidate will be the technical management and operative guidance of the Metals division. This position will drive growth on the Metals and R&D teams. This position will report directly to the Senior VP, Global Additive Minds.

Your Mission

  • Supervise and lead EOS NA Metals R&D team, while collaborating with the global CTO organization.
  • Manage R&D project portfolio according to corporate priorities including product development.
  • Develop and lead internal and external development projects with EOS partners and universities, including material development.
  • Represent EOS at various technical & industrial bodies not limited to Standard development organizations (SDOs), industry, and academic associations, industrial and academic conferences.
  • Elaborate and deploy technology roadmaps and recommend R&D strategy to management.
  • Manage the operating and capital expenditure budget of the EOS metals R&D group and metals additive minds team.
  • Determine the objectives of the members of his or her team and conduct their performance appraisal.
  • Recruit and maintain a qualified workforce.
  • Identification of clients and customers (and their key value chain suppliers) that need further AM support via consulting projects.
  • Lead team in the design, structure and execution of consulting projects.
  • Close working relationship with sales, Key account managers, business development, technology management, and product management to enable the implementation of the EOS sales strategy in the Market.
  • Support group management activities.
  • Other duties as defined by management.

Your Talents

  • Masters or Doctorate degree with a minimum of seven years of experience with laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) technology in mechanical engineering, materials science or equivalent.
  • Experience with the development of technical work scopes for incorporation with proposals.
  • Existing or previous engineering, support and/or development experience in metal material processing, including metallurgy.
  • Excellent communication skills and business fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • Customer application development experience.
  • Self-motivator with strong analytical and conceptual thinking and working.
  • Practical experience in, or knowledge of quality assurance and testing methods.
  • Proven success in a team-oriented environment with a high degree of intercultural competence.
  • Extensive travel required, domestically and internationally.
