Role Summary:

As an AI Solutions Architect for Console, you are the technical engine behind Filevine's defense pursuits. This is a deeply technical pre-sales role: rather than demonstrating a fixed product, you will configure and build against development requirements and specific mission use cases, working hand in hand with our forward engineering team to stand up demo environments. You will gather and translate mission requirements into technical direction, shape what gets built to demonstrate capability, and then demonstrate that capability to technical and operational evaluators.

You will work to determine the customer's mission need and the engineering effort that meets it. This role requires deeper engineering and product experience than a traditional sales engineer: you must be able to reason about architecture, data, and AI systems, translate ambiguous mission problems into buildable requirements, and move fast in a development-driven environment. We are building a small, elite team of AI Solutions Architects to attack the defense AI market, and this role is where mission requirements become demonstrated capability.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and translate mission requirements working with DOD customers and Account Executives to turn ambiguous operational problems into clear, buildable technical requirements and use cases.

• Support requirements identification and shaping partnering with capture and product teams to identify emerging mission requirements early and shape them ahead of a formal solicitation.

• Configure and build against development requirements standing up Console demo environments tailored to specific mission use cases — going well beyond a fixed demo script to prove the capability the customer actually needs.

• Partner directly with forward engineering supporting and directing the engineering effort that builds demo environments and prototype capability, and serving as the bridge between customer need and what gets built.

• Demonstrate capability to technical and operational evaluators running credible, mission-relevant demonstrations that show Console solving the problem in the customer's context.

• Serve as the technical advisor throughout the pursuit answering deep technical questions, resolving roadblocks, and supporting technical validation, security questionnaires, and the technical portions of responses.

• Support RFPs with demos and documentation building demo assets and writing the technical narrative and supporting documentation that go into RFP and RFI responses.

• Work hand in hand with Account Executives providing the technical proof that moves defense deals past evaluation and into pilot or production.

• Reason about architecture, data, and AI systems advising on how Console integrates and operates within the customer's environment, including classified and air-gapped constraints.

• Feed customer feedback to product teams feeding mission requirements and field insight back to product and engineering to shape what Console becomes.

• Partner with strategic pursuit teams working closely with Sales, Proposals, Partnerships, and other strategic teams to align technical strategy with the broader pursuit.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years in a deeply technical role — AI Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or a software engineering / technical product role — with meaningful hands-on engineering or product depth.

• Demonstrated ability to configure and build against development requirements — you can turn a use case into a working, demonstrable solution, not just present a fixed demo.

• Experience translating ambiguous, mission-driven problems into clear technical requirements that an engineering team can build against.

• Strong technical foundation: the ability to reason about architecture, data, integration, and AI/LLM systems, and to work credibly alongside engineers.

• Experience building or deploying systems powered by LLMs or generative/agentic AI, and an understanding of how model behavior shapes the solution.

• Deep understanding of the DOD/national-security customer — how mission owners and program offices operate — and the ability to speak their language.

• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, development-driven environment, working directly with forward engineering and Account Executives.

• A conceptual, driven, deeply technical operator who can move from requirement to demonstrated capability fast.

We are building an elite strike team to win the defense AI market — conceptual, driven, deeply technical operators. The Console AI Solutions Architect is where mission requirements become demonstrated capability: the person who translates the problem, works with forward engineering to build the proof, and shows the customer what Console can do. This is a rare chance to build defense AI capability at the ground floor of a market we are creating.

Compensation Information: $120,000 - 170,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. The total compensation package for this position will be determined by each individual’s location, qualifications, education, work experience, skills and performance. We believe in the importance of pay equity - the range listed is just one component of Filevine’s total compensation package for employees. This position is also eligible for a paid time off policy, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Location Expectation: This role is based in our Ballston, VA location, and expected to be onsite 5 days/week.
