We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Welding Fabricator Lead Man to oversee our fabrication operations and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. About Us: We are a family-owned steel fabrication shop specializing in custom metalwork for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. With a commitment to quality, we take pride in delivering exceptional results. Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and train a team of skilled welders and fabricators. Plan, assign, and direct daily welding and fabrication tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines. Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Perform various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.) on different materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.). Fabricate and assemble metal parts, brackets, and structures according to required dimensions and tolerances. Conduct quality control inspections of finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report weekly updates to management. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency improvements within the fabrication shop. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed, maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Estimate time and material costs for custom fabrication projects. Operate and maintain a variety of welding and fabrication equipment, including torches, power supplies, saws, grinders, and other machine shop tools. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Qualifications: Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, with at least 3+ in a lead or supervisory role. Expertise in various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, etc.) and ability to work with diverse metals. Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges. Excellent knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, bending, and assembly. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team effectively. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety regulations. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs.) and stand/be active for extended periods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license (if applicable for occasional travel or material pick-up). Preferred: Experience with CNC cutting machines.
