Location: Gretna, NE Service Line: Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna Schedule: Full-time Evenings 2:00pm - 10:00pm every other weekend

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna.

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will help residents feel safe, supported, comfortable, and at home. You will provide hands-on assistance with daily living while getting to know each resident's individual routines, preferences, and needs.

What You'll Do

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will work closely with residents and other care team members to provide individualized support based on each resident's plan of care.

You will:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living based on their individual needs and plan of care.
• Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, hygiene, mobility, and other personal-care needs.
• Support residents in maintaining as much independence as possible.
• Obtain and document vital signs and weights as scheduled or ordered.
• Complete required resident documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, or needs and communicate concerns promptly.
• Provide one-on-one support and companionship as needed.
• Collect, wash, and return resident laundry according to established schedules.
• Help maintain clean, comfortable, and organized resident rooms.
• Assist residents with getting to and from activities as time allows.
• Monitor meal service and provide reminders or assistance as needed.
• Communicate resident concerns and needs with the nurse and incoming or outgoing shifts.
• Respect each resident's choices, privacy, dignity, and individual preferences.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to keep resident care running smoothly.
• Assist with additional resident-care responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with aging adults and providing personal care in assisted living, memory care, dementia care, or a similar setting preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be able to safely assist residents with personal care, transfers, mobility, and daily needs.
• Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.
• Must be flexible and calm when responding to resident concerns or stressful situations.
• Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively.
• Must follow established infection-control, safety, and resident-care procedures.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
• Other duties as assigned.
