Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be crucial in ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and safety of chemical processing equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical processes, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and conducting repairs to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and any modifications made to equipment or facilities, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies such as chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures, and take appropriate measures to contain the situation and minimize risks to personnel and the environment. Inventory Management: Monitor chemical inventories and equipment spare parts, and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supplies are available to support ongoing operations. Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to operators and other maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, and collaborate with the engineering team to implement changes as needed. Key Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar role in a manufacturing or processing environment. Possess intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, electrical and mechanical systems. Some knowledge of building, electrical codes and OSHA regulations. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds; squatting and kneeling. #J-18808-Ljbffr
