Senior AI EngineerLocation: New York, NY (Hybrid) About the Role Our client is a fast-growing technology startup building intelligent products powered by large language models, automation, and modern AI technologies. As they continue to scale, they are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help design and deliver the next generation of AI-powered products and customer experiences. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building products from the ground up and has experience developing AI assistants, chatbots, and agent-based applications in production environments. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to turn ideas into scalable solutions used by real customers.What You'll Be DoingBuild AI-powered products and customer-facing experiencesDevelop AI assistants, chatbots, and workflow automation solutionsDesign and implement multi-agent systems that can retrieve information, coordinate tasks, and interact with external toolsWork with RAG pipelines, vector databases, and knowledge management systemsImprove the reliability, scalability, and performance of AI applications in productionEvaluate new models and technologies to enhance product capabilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to rapidly deliver new featuresMonitor and optimise AI systems for quality, latency, and costWhat We're Looking For Required Experience5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally within startup environmentsProven experience building and shipping AI-powered productsStrong Python development skillsHands-on experience developing AI assistants, chatbots, or conversational applicationsExperience building agentic or multi-agent systemsExperience with LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar frameworksStrong understanding of RAG architectures and vector databasesExperience building scalable backend services and APIsComfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environmentsNice to HaveExperience with model fine-tuning and optimisationKnowledge of graph databases and knowledge graph architecturesExperience with AI evaluation and testing frameworksExperience building voice-enabled or multimodal applications
