Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist with demonstrated cardiac experience for a concentrated locum tenens coverage opportunity in Richmond, Indiana , from December 21–28, 2026 .

This opportunity is particularly attractive for a broadly skilled anesthesiologist who maintains meaningful cardiac experience but may not be fellowship trained in Cardiac Anesthesiology . Cardiac fellowship training is not required for physicians who can demonstrate appropriate competency through recent cardiac case logs and required clinical attestation.

The physician will provide regular daytime OR coverage with cardiac call limited to December 24–27 while practicing independently across a diverse anesthesia case mix.

Clinical Practice

This is not a narrowly defined cardiac-only assignment. The selected physician must be comfortable functioning independently across a broad anesthesia practice while possessing the cardiac experience necessary to support the designated cardiac coverage.

Expected clinical capabilities include:

• Cardiac Cath Lab anesthesia
• Electrophysiology procedures
• Structural heart procedures
• Major vascular and interventional vascular cases
• AAA repair
• General anesthesia
• Obstetric anesthesia
• Spinal and epidural anesthesia
• Regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks
• Trauma
• Healthy pediatric patients down to 6 months of age
• Central venous catheter placement
• Arterial catheter placement
• Difficult airway management

The cardiac procedural scope may include applicable structural heart and Cath Lab cases without responsibility for interpreting TEE images .

Independent Practice Expectations

The physician must be comfortable working independently and managing assigned cases without relying on another anesthesiologist to assume portions of the required clinical scope .

Physician colleagues may be available for clinical discussion, but candidates should possess the breadth of experience necessary to independently perform the routinely assigned anesthesia cases for which they are privileged.

This opportunity is therefore best suited to an experienced anesthesiologist with a strong, current general anesthesia skill set in addition to demonstrated cardiac competency.

Cardiac Experience

Cardiac fellowship training is not mandatory.

The opportunity may be open to:

• Fellowship-trained Cardiac Anesthesiologists
• General Anesthesiologists with substantial cardiac experience
• Physicians able to provide appropriate recent cardiac case logs
• Physicians capable of completing the required clinical competency attestation

This creates an excellent opportunity for an experienced general anesthesiologist who regularly manages cardiac cases but does not hold formal cardiac fellowship training.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will:

• Be appropriately Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Possess appropriate medical licensure and prescribing authority for the assignment
• Demonstrate recent cardiac anesthesia experience
• Provide requested cardiac case logs
• Be comfortable with the complete required anesthesia scope
• Be comfortable practicing independently
• Be available for the full December 21–28 coverage window
• Be available for cardiac call December 24–27
• Complete required clinical competency documentation during credentialing
