Facility Engineer

Description


As an Account Facility Engineer , you will be responsible for improving the reliability, performance, and maintenance strategies of mission-critical building systems. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will develop preventive maintenance programs, analyze equipment performance, support CMMS initiatives, and implement reliability improvements that maximize equipment uptime and minimize operational risk.

This role is ideal for an experienced facilities or reliability engineer with a strong HVAC or mechanical background who enjoys developing maintenance strategies, supporting capital projects, and driving continuous improvement across critical facility operations.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) strongly preferred.
• Alternative: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant experience.
• 10+ years of heavy commercial HVAC and mechanical systems experience.
• Experience managing small facility or mechanical projects.
• Experience with Johnson Controls systems preferred.
• Strong CMMS experience.
• Experience developing and reviewing:
  
  • Preventive maintenance (PM) programs
  • Maintenance strategies
  • Job plans
  • Equipment maintenance schedules
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and facility systems.
• Experience evaluating equipment reliability and asset performance.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical activities including walking, climbing ladders, stooping, and standing.

Requirements:

• Develop and improve asset maintenance and reliability plans.
• Support engineering and operations teams in evaluating equipment performance.
• Develop risk management strategies to improve plant reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility equipment and infrastructure issues.
• Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Develop and maintain CMMS documentation and maintenance records.
• Create and improve preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain system configurations and technical documentation.
• Apply engineering principles to improve equipment reliability.
• Coach and mentor team members on reliability best practices.
• Solve complex operational and maintenance challenges.
• Work across multiple departments to improve facility performance.
• Build consensus and communicate technical information with stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Electrical systems experience.
• Reliability engineering experience in mission-critical facilities.
• Experience supporting data centers or large commercial facilities.
• Experience implementing asset management improvements.
• Knowledge of risk-based maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
• Experience optimizing CMMS programs and maintenance workflows.
