The Healthcare Client Onboarding Specialist is the front door for every new client relationship at 4C Digital Health. You guide clients from contract signature through their first live Symphony data cycle — translating raw claims data into structured, validated inputs our platform can process and warehouse.

 

This is an operations role, not a technical developer role. You work directly with client contacts — finance, benefits, and TPA liaisons — to understand their data landscape, document their business rules, and coordinate with the internal team to map those rules into our ETL framework. AI tools handle the mechanical transformation work; you provide the judgment, client communication, and domain expertise that makes every handoff clean.

 

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

 

• Lead end-to-end client onboarding from kickoff call through first successful data delivery
• Conduct structured discovery sessions with client contacts to inventory all data sources: medical claims, eligibility, financial/invoicing, and TPA feeds
• Document client-specific business logic — stop-loss thresholds, SPD benefit rules, timely filing windows, shared savings configurations, ASA fee structures — in standardized requirement templates
• Translate raw client data into ETL mapping specifications handed off to the tech team; validate output files match expectations before go-live
• Serve as primary client contact through implementation; manage expectations, timelines, and escalate data issues promptly
• Coordinate with Rev Cycle and Production teams so client configuration is correctly set up before the first Symphony cycle runs
• Maintain onboarding documentation and runbooks for each client so coverage is never single-threaded
• Surface patterns across clients — common data quality issues, TPA quirks, carrier file format problems — as product improvement opportunities

 

BACKGROUND WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

Required:

• 5+ years in healthcare operations, benefits administration, TPA, or managed care
• Hands-on experience with self-funded employer health plan data — claims files, eligibility files, financial data, or invoicing
• Ability to facilitate structured client conversations and translate business requirements into written specifications
• Comfort working with data files, Excel, and CSVs — you do not write code, but you can read a data dictionary and spot a mapping error
• Project management instincts — able to manage multiple onboarding simultaneously without dropping handoffs

 

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience with Aetna, UHC, BCBS, or Cigna as TPA — familiarity with their claims file formats and data conventions
• Exposure to stop-loss, shared savings, or invoice reconciliation processes
• Experience writing business requirements documents or data mapping specifications

 

Not Required:

• SQL, Python, or any programming language
• Technical ETL development or software engineering background

 

HOW AI AUGMENTS THIS ROLE

 

4C uses AI tooling to accelerate the mechanical parts of onboarding:

• Automated data profiling identifies file structure, column types, and anomalies in raw client data
• AI generates a first-pass ETL mapping specification from documented requirements for the tech team to refine
• Automated data quality checks flag records outside expected ranges before they reach the production pipeline

Your job is to make the AI output correct — providing the business context, client-specific exceptions, and judgment calls that automation cannot supply.
