FT RN On-Call Runner- nights - Cornerstone Hospice

The RN, Nights and Weekends role offers after‑hours field visits to patients, families, and community partners. The position operates Monday‑Thursday 6pm‑8am and offers a sign‑on bonus and benefits from day one. Responsibilities Provides after‑hours visits to patients in homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospitals across the assigned affiliate territory. Assesses patients and families, identifies immediate needs, and determines appropriate nursing interventions by phone and/or during visits. Manages direct patient care as part of an Interdisciplinary Group, incorporating psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, physical and biological components. Demonstrates clinical skills in case management, application of company policy, physical assessment, intravenous therapies, pain medication titration, symptom management, and patient/family relationships. Prioritizes, consults, refers, and collaborates with other professionals to promote quality and continuity of care. Educates patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals about disease progression, palliative interventions, caregiving, end‑of‑life process, and safety practices. Reports changes in patient condition to appropriate team members or health professionals. Attends patient deaths; prepares body for transport, oversees medication disposal, and provides bereavement support. Completes documentation per company policy and procedure. Responds to emergencies (e.g., hurricanes) and may be required to report early or stay overnight as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Current RN license in the state of employment. Minimum one year nursing experience; hospice or hospital experience preferred. Experience working with an EMR/EHR system. Effective verbal and written communication in English; bilingual Spanish preferred. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; reliable transportation required. Excellent critical decision‑making, problem‑solving, and clinical assessment skills. Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and data entry. Ability to manage stressful situations respectfully and maintain exceptional customer service. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients or equipment, bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling. Active BLS certification for healthcare professionals. Additional Requirements Must consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment. All Florida‑affiliated employees must pass a Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse verification and continue eligibility checks. Compensation Pay range: $67,976.53 – $106,213.33.
