May 8, 2026 Pay: $38K - $57K Responsibilities Major Responsibilities: Clean/disinfect assigned area(s) by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, patient televisions, windows, furniture, tile, fixtures, appliances, floors, and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions using procedures and following schedules specific to each item. Operate various equipment following department procedures. Use chemicals and solutions following department policy. Keep work areas clean, orderly and safe. Clean and sanitize beds and rooms after patient discharge according to established procedures. Move equipment and furniture for cleaning, rearrangement and/or relocation; arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning. Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, etc., and obtain additional supplies as needed. Routinely collect waste and sanitize garbage cans; observe Standard (Universal) Precautions, Infection Control Policies, and departmental procedures. Clean or sanitize after emergency spills; place full, tied bags of soiled linen in linen chutes; ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and staff. Handle cleaning chemicals and solutions per departmental policies and ensure proper labeling and storage. Maintain general housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning carpets, and laundering or shampooing furniture and carpets as scheduled. Identify types of soiled materials and apply appropriate cleaning solutions per policy. Report safety hazards and equipment needing repair to the supervisor; follow department procedures for patient discharges and related activities. Maintain attendance and punctuality as required by hospital policy. Qualifications Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience. Basic computer skills preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Able to operate small electrical equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners); excellent customer service; ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and understanding chemical labels and safety materials). Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Walking, standing, bending, climbing; ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; for lifts over 35 pounds, use lifting equipment or work with another associate as needed. Work Hours and Benefits Hours per Week: 7am-3:30pm; alternating weekends and holidays. Benefits Eligible: No; see notes in the role description for any department-specific provisions.
