High School Math Teacher

High School Math Teacher Teaching duties will include Algebra 1, Honors Algebra 1 and possibly Practical Math. Candid with Computer Science certification could also be asked to teach entry level computer classes. This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with curriculum planning, supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and teaching children in a classroom setting. Responsibilities include: Possess knowledge of the subjects taught and understand which concepts and skills are central to discipline. Develop lessons that incorporate other subjects and incorporate skills that are part of other subjects. Demonstrate knowledge of not only the subject content, but also knowledge of the students who are learning the appropriate content. Direct instructional outcomes that reflect important learning so that all students are able to demonstrate their understanding of the content. Recognize the importance in the selection of resources and choose resources that align directly with the learning outcomes and will be of most use to the students. Qualifications include: Teaching license for the particular position as required by the State. Familiarity with the use of computers including but not limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office). Ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those contacted in the course of work (students, parents, and staff). Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner. Tri City CUSD 1
