Director of Business Development - Data Center Services Chicago, IL (Preferred) | North Central Region Base Salary: $150,000+ On-Target Earnings: $300,000-$350,000+ Uncapped Commission Travel: Regional Travel Required About the Opportunity Broadstaff is seeking a Director of Business Development - Data Center Services on behalf of a leading national infrastructure and technology services organization. This opportunity is ideal for a highly connected sales professional with experience selling into the data center, hyperscale, AI, cloud, colocation, and mission-critical infrastructure markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding market presence throughout the Midwest. This is a true hunter role focused on generating new business, developing key accounts, and strengthening relationships with data center operators, hyperscale providers, contractors, construction managers, and industry partners. What You’ll Do Drive sales growth across the Midwest data center market. Develop and execute strategic business development plans focused on new and existing accounts. Build relationships with hyperscale providers, AI platforms, cloud operators, colocation providers, and enterprise clients. Engage with general contractors, electrical contractors, engineering firms, consultants, and technology partners. Identify and pursue opportunities involving data center construction, expansions, upgrades, and Day 2 deployments. Partner with estimating, operations, and project teams to develop winning customer solutions. Maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurate forecasting. Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and networking functions. Travel throughout the region to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities. Solutions & Services You’ll represent the organization provides a comprehensive portfolio of infrastructure services, including: Inside Plant Services Structured Cabling (Fiber & Copper) Rack & Stack Deployments White Space & Gray Space Infrastructure Low Voltage Systems Security Systems DAS Solutions Colocation Fit‑Outs Network Infrastructure Deployments Data Center Expansion Projects Day 2 Installations Outside Plant Services Fiber Construction Fiber Placement Duct Bank Installation Fiber Splicing & Testing Repair & Restoration Services Campus Fiber Connectivity Ideal Candidate Background Candidates may currently come from: Data Center Infrastructure Providers Structured Cabling Organizations Fiber Construction Companies Mission-Critical Construction Firms Colocation Providers Cloud Infrastructure Organizations Technology Integrators Telecommunications Infrastructure Providers Preferred Experience 5+ years of business development experience within data center, hyperscale, cloud, AI, telecommunications, or mission-critical infrastructure environments. Established relationships with data center operators, developers, contractors, and infrastructure stakeholders. Experience selling project-based services rather than hardware or software alone. Strong understanding of data center environments and supporting infrastructure. Knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, low-voltage systems, security, DAS, and related technologies. Experience navigating GC-led, CM-led, and owner-direct opportunities. Ability to work effectively across sales, operations, estimating, and project management teams.
