The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Mission Support Programs Specialist to the command staff, including the commander, senior enlisted leader, director of operations and the mission support division chief. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Organizes and directs mission support programs for the Community College of the Air Force, Mission Support directorate. Performs resource management and administrative work therein. Protocol point of contact for organization, responsible for planning, coordinating, any protocol requirement involving the organization's command staff. Coordinates review and ensures timely response of routine and higher level taskings. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of the classified title, and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform difficult, but well-precedented assignments; (2) knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives; (3) knowledge of the occupation to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly; (4) skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform moderately difficult assignments. OR EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) may also substitute for the experience required at this level. SAA is defined as a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, having a class standing in the upper third of a graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, skill in working with senior level military and civilian officials and maintaining effective working relationships.
2. Knowledge and thorough understanding of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
3. Knowledge and skill of Joint Federal Travel regulations and DAF financial management directives, concepts, procedures, guidance and policy.
4. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of problems of a procedural or factual nature.
5. Knowledge and understanding of the concepts, principles and practices of protocol, military ceremonies, traditions, customs and courtesies, and governing policies, pertinent laws, regulations, and precedents.
6. Knowledge and understanding of regulations and procedures affecting Official Representation Funds (ORF), Special Morale and Welfare (SM&W) Funds, and Operations and Maintenance Funds (O&M) and skill in applying basic resource, budget, and funds management.
