If you are a skilled, detail-oriented machinist who takes pride in precision work, we want to hear from you.What You'll DoAs a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for creating high-quality precision metal parts, tools, and other components — operating a variety of specialized machinery and ensuring all work adheres to safety and quality standards.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:Creating precision metal parts, tools, and components using a diverse range of equipment including lathes, milling machines (conversational and manual), micrometers, and various measuring devicesStudying design criteria, reading and interpreting blueprints, and analyzing project specifications to determine the necessary equipment, materials, and processes for each jobDeveloping and executing a comprehensive plan for each project, outlining the steps required to create the appropriate tools and componentsPreparing and operating machines to grind, cut, and polish raw materials and components to exact specificationsUtilizing manual tools to finish projects, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to design specificationsContinuously monitoring machine operations and product output to identify and address any deviations from quality standardsReporting any equipment malfunctions, material defects, or safety concerns to the supervisorMaintaining a clean, organized work area and ensuring all equipment is properly cared forStrictly adhering to all applicable safety requirements and protocols during all operationsWhat We're Looking ForCompetencies:Learning AbilityProblem Solving/AnalysisInitiativeTime ManagementAttention to DetailAdaptabilityContinuous ImprovementAbility to Work Well in a GroupRequired Education & Experience:High school diploma or GED, OR 3–5 years of related experience or training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in machining or a related fieldSolid understanding of metal properties and machining processesPreferred Experience:Experience with weldingExperience with conversational mill machine operationPhysical RequirementsThis is an active, hands-on role in a manufacturing environment. Team members must be able to:Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, and crawl throughout the shiftRegularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs. and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and communicate effectivelyMaintain close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, team members are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, oil, and grease. Team members occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and perform work from a variety of angles and body positions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
