Mobile Staff Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Yard Foreman to oversee daily yard operations, loading activities, equipment safety, and material handling. This position plays a key role in coordinating safe and efficient shipping operations while leading yard personnel and maintaining compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Federal Highway safety standards.

Position Summary

The Yard Foreman is responsible for planning and supervising the safe storage, movement, and loading of materials for shipment. This role works closely with Shipping Coordinators, Logistics personnel, and Shop Superintendents to ensure all loads are properly prepared, documented, and shipped safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment
• Coordinate shipments with Shipping Coordinators, Logistics Coordinators, and Shop Superintendents
• Supervise yard personnel and equipment operations to ensure safety and productivity
• Inspect and verify loads for proper securement and safe transportation
• Ensure photos and documentation are completed for outgoing loads
• Audit shipping tickets and Bills of Lading (BOL) to verify shipment accuracy
• Monitor equipment and personnel for compliance with safety standards
• Ensure yard equipment receives preventive maintenance and remains in safe operating condition
• Support shop production needs by coordinating material movement and staging
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Report directly to the Shop Superintendent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous yard, shipping, logistics, or material handling experience preferred
• Experience with rigging, crane operation, crane hand signals, and DOT/Federal Highway safety regulations preferred
• Forklift certification preferred
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate equipment and oversee loading operations
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
• Ability to lift, stand, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Class A CDL preferred
