Respiratory Therapist - Emergency Department

Job Location UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion - Aurora, CO Department and Schedule Respiratory Care – Full Time, 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Shift Nights. Pay $31.61 – $47.41 per hour, depending on the applicant’s relevant experience. Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State licensure. NRP certification obtained within 1 year if assigned to NICU. PALS certification obtained within 1 year if assigned to ED. Valid BLS or CPR card (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) held in hand before start date and maintained for at least 60 days of hire. Responsibilities Provide top‑of‑scope respiratory therapy in a direct patient care environment, utilizing protocols and best practices to promote optimized care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional care outcomes. Prioritize patient wellness, perspectives, and evidence‑based practice. Model proficiency and precept newly hired or less experienced staff. Continuously seek and implement new knowledge within a fast‑paced, innovative clinical environment. Contribute to safety and quality at the point of care. Manage ventilator integration, adaptive pulmonary support, and airway management across multiple levels of care. Participate in process improvement projects at the unit, division, regional, or system level.
