About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: NY State License required Certifications: BLS, CNOR preferred Must-Have: Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement Description: Seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. The candidate must have experience in diverse surgical procedures. Skills required include general operating room experience and familiarity with various surgical specialties such as orthopedic, neuro, gynecologic, urology, vascular, and thoracic. Proficiency in laparoscopic-assisted cases, major abdominal surgeries, and other complex procedures is essential. The role involves responding to codes, adhering to infection control protocols, and ensuring patient safety during procedures. The nurse will work collaboratively with the surgical team and display a high level of professionalism and communication. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking skills and be able to handle high-pressure situations. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred. Experience with electronic health record systems is a plus. This position requires being on-call and potentially floating to different areas as needed. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their capabilities in a fast-paced operating room environment.
